Transmission Torque Convertor Lockup Kit

The “Stocklock” torque convertor lockup kit is the most advanced on the market, and gives you the ability to control and “lock” the torque convertor which stops it from slipping and gives you more torque to the wheels.  The Stocklock comes in a few different options, the Dual speed, the Extreme and our own DPT Low Speed Extreme.

Stocklock torque converter lock-up kit – Dual Speed

The Dual speed offers a two button system, an Auto button for normal everyday driving. This technologically advanced  lock-up kit automatically controls the transmission lock-up when you are in drive. The electronics are all set and automatically lock the torque convertor around 78 km/h. This will hold 5th gear at this speed and you will find this stops the taco constantly changing when going over slight rises and hills. If you go fast enough, it will engage, and also stay locked in 6th gear.
When slowing down, the Stocklock is programmed to unlock the torque convertor when it drops below 75 km/h, all this is fully automatic so you don’t need to do anything.

To activate the second speed, simply push the Low speed button in and select “sports mode” with your gear shifter. You must drive with the gear shifter and use every gear just like a manual gearbox. Taking off in first, select second and once you hit around 38 km/h, this will engage the lockup torque converter. You will now have lockup in each gear, from 2nd gear and all the way through to 5th and even 6th gear. This will put more power and torque to the wheels, as no power is lost through the torque converter slipping. When you are slowing down and changing the gears down as you are coming to a stop, the Stocklock will automatically unlock the torque convertor when you go below 35 km/h, this will allow the automatic to function normally and NOT stall the engine.

When going down hills, you will have engine braking just like a manual gearbox, this is a huge advantage when towing down a range.

Stocklock torque converter lock-up kit – Extreme

The Stocklock “Extreme” transmission lock-up kit is a 3 Speed lock-up and is much easier to operate as it is wired directly to the sports shifter. It has one button to turn the Stocklock on and off and works the same way as the Dual Speed. With the button turned on, the Stocklock will be automatic and engage around 78 km/h when in drive.

If you want to use the low-speed lock-up, simply move the shifter to sports mode and then you have lock-up in every gear from around 38 km/h. There is no need to push any button, it is activated by the shifter. Drive the transmission using the shifter in every gear, same as the Dual speed and when you want to stop using the low speed lockup, simply select drive and it disengages and goes back to automatic mode. This is shift-on-the-fly technology so there is no need to stop to go between modes.

To activate the 3rd speed, stop the vehicle, select LOW range, move the shifter over to sports mode and you will have lock-up from 8 km/h. Perfect for sand and bull dust etc when you need maximum low range power and torque. Again, you will have lockup in every gear.

If you don’t want the Stocklock on, simply push the button off, or move the shifter back to drive. It’s that simple.

This Extreme 3 Speed Stocklock is fantastic and easy to use.

We have done back-to-back testing on our Dyno, and when the low-speed lock-up is activated, we achieved over 25% more Torque to the wheels. We have customers reporting up to 30 degrees cooler transmission temperatures, and fuel economy improvements around 2-3 litres/100km when towing.
